About UsCommunity
At Shasta Industries, we are proud to take on an active role in the community,
striving to make a difference in the lives of others. Our goal is to be a
caring corporate citizen in hopes of inspiring others to do the same.
Throughout the year, the Shasta team reaches out to the children of the Thomas
J. Pappas School for Homeless Children. Shasta coordinates and hosts a variety
of fundraisers, such as toy drives, potlucks, clothing drives and raffles, all
of which bring in proceeds that go directly to the children. Shasta's target
goal this year is to raise $5,000. Last year, Shasta was able to give every
first grader a new bicycle and helmet. This year Shasta continues to help
throughout the holiday season, handing out toys and CD walkman players to as
many kids as possible. Kids that attend the three schools located in Phoenix
and Tempe are supported by the many activities Shasta and their dedicated
employees organize and make an important part of their work.
Shasta also continues to aid those in need even outside the local community. In
2005, Shasta Industries donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross Relief
Effort, in hopes of providing comfort to those victims suffering in the
aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Shasta also offered to match up to $15,000 for
all contributions made by their employees.
In response to the October 8th earthquake that struck the region bordering
Pakistan, northern India and Afghanistan, Shasta once again came to the aid of
those in need. Through the American Red Cross, Shasta put a donation program in
place that matched employee contributions up to $5,000.
It is through this fervent commitment to the local and global communities that
Shasta and its generous employees aim to improve the lives of those less
fortunate.
